I had the pleasure of working with Subplot Designs, Inc. and Petcurean Pet Nutrition to create the artwork for their SPIKE dog treat packaging, launched in November 2015. The packaging features gouache portraits of dogs in fun, active, and humorous “photo bomb” scenes, where the dogs interact with corresponding line drawings.

These playful dog portraits were found through a call for dog models through my Instagram page, allowing real-life dogs to take center stage on the packaging. The dogs’ personalities—active, fun, and full of attitude—were brought to life in gouache on paper, while the human counterparts on each image were sketched with pen and ink.

This project garnered multiple awards, including:
